What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Ansbach University of Applied Sciences?
The best and most educational time of my life

What was the best experience at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences that you remember?
There are so many wonderful experiences I had during my studies, but if I had to name "the most wonderful experience", I would take my O-Days 2014.
You can't have studied in Ansbach without ...
having been to the student parties organised by the student council!

What motivations determined your choice of study and career?
My training as a medical assistant, my time as a soldier in the German Armed Forces and my one year at the BOS determined my choice of study towards a Bachelor's degree in business administration. At the beginning of my studies, it was already clear to me that I would specialise in controlling and international business administration. For my Master's degree, I wanted to deepen my international knowledge but also acquire some technical knowledge, which is why the IPM offered a Master's degree with a focus on technology.

What influence did your studies at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences have on your life? Is there anything that has remained particularly memorable for you?
Studying at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences was the most intensive, most beautiful and also most instructive time of my life.

What could you take away from your studies for your professional future?
The "transfer thinking". Of course, you resented the professor for that in the exams, but it is also needed in professional life.

If you could study again today, would you do anything differently?
On the whole, I would do it the same way.

Looking back on your time as a student: What would you like to pass on to the students?
The words that Professor Ambrosius once chose at our induction ceremony: If you work hard, you can party hard. Simply enjoy being a student, both when celebrating with friends and when studying.

To what extent do you still feel connected to the university today? Do you still have contact with fellow students?
I still have very good contact with staff/professors of the university as well as fellow students, which has resulted in wonderful friendships and I feel very connected to the university and Ansbach. For me, a visit to Ansbach is like coming home.

What were important stages in your career?
My studies, because without my Bachelor's/Master's degree I wouldn't be able to do my job.

What do you particularly like about your job today?
That I can do the job that fulfils me, that I enjoy and that I have wonderful colleagues.

What are the three most important skills in your everyday work?
Analytical thinking, teamwork, affinity for numbers

In your opinion, what is the best way to start a career in your sector (entry routes, application tips)?
During your studies, gain initial experience in the area in which you would like to work later in the form of an internship or as a student trainee. Acquire skills that may not be taught during your studies, e.g. in-depth knowledge of Excel or SAP.

What career tips do you have for students and young graduates?
Keep up the acquaintances and friendships that you have built up during your studies. Networking is very important nowadays and may also be a help/support for joining a company.
